Eric was a product of the FC Nantes youth system, and signed professional forms with the club in the summer of 2000. 

He played a total of 42 league games for Nantes, scoring one goal, and winning Le Championnat in his first full season of 2000/2001. Eric played in the club’s Champions League campaign, including the game against Manchester United in February 2002.

Eric made his debut for Cameroon on January 11, 2002 against Tunisia, and a month later earned an African Cup of Nations winners’ medal in Mali. Eric has played 14 times for the Indomitable Lions
